Following her late husband's death, she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Toby and Stu Schimerling, where she lived for nine years. In March of '95, a broken hip forced her to take up residence at a nursing facility. Her last months at the nursing home were kept busy with frequent visits and outings with her daughter, Toby (Stu) and her grandson, Don (Susie) and their children.

Survivors are her brother, Julian Meyer and her sister, Elaine Landau; four grandchildren, Don, Mike, Mark and Keith; 11 great-grandchildren and daughter, Renee (Richard) and their two children. Funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior to service, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Elk Grove Village. on Saturday, Dec. 31. He was an avid golfer, sailor, woodworker, gardener and tennis player. Above all was his sense of family, integrity, and deep religious convictions. He was a lifelong member and elder in his churches, the Flossmoor Community Church and the Glenkirk Church of Glendora, CA.

As patriarch of his extended family, he showed enthusiastic vitality and never failing interest in their activities and accomplishments. As a community leader, he was active as an educational canvasser and activist in Illinois, and a board member in his California community. In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Wilson is remembered by his three daughters, Peg, Judy and Sandra; their husbands; seven grandchildren; brother, Frederick of Homewood; and sister, Vera Bennet of Loranger, LA.
