James Joseph Wright James Joseph Wright, 73 year old farmer of the Rice School community, died suddenly Tuesday at his home. Kate Sims and Mrs. Nell Elrod of Albertville; 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 14-year-old mother's newborn twins die Twin daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Howard of Union Grove lived only 5 hours and died early Thursday morning at the Arab Hospital.

He was appointed by the city commission and took over the duties Jan. 1. He succeeds Starnes Starnes of Guntersville, who had been the Arab city attorneys for several years. They are also the city attorneys of Guntersville. Mr.

Aaron, has been practicing law in Arab since graduating from the University of Alabama law school in 1957. He is a native of Chambers County. Arab High wins 4 games same night Five' Arab High School teams were in action Tuesday night and four of them won their games. The Knights beat Holly Pond at Arab 69-60. Gary Preston, Wayne Ponder and Bobby King led Arab with outstanding re' bounding and Donald Poole, Red Ashburn and Don Sutton played a good floor game.

High scoremen were: Arab, Preston 22, Ponder 16, Sutton 11; Holly Pond, Rake- straw 16, Druett 15, Harbin 15 The Knights led 46-32 at the half. Holly Pond won the B-game 46-39 after leading 30-19 at the half. High scoremen: Arab, Mack Waldrop 14; Holly Pond, Stallings 12. While the senior high teams were playing at Arab the three junior high teams had games at Nixon Chapel. All three won.

A lady, going by stopped and told them the barn was afire. Mr. Hodges was asleep and by the time he got to the fire one build ing was falling in and another was afire. He had time to save his tractors but nothing else. All of his hay, 500 bushels of corn, 19 little pigs and 3 brood sows were lost.

He had no in surance. It was so cold that night Mr. Hodges had left a large light bulb burning near the new pigs to help keep them warm. It is thought the sows nudged corn shucks too close to it and started the fire. Mr.

Hodges' son Billy was at home in bed with kidney stones and could not help his father. The Guntersville fire department came out but it was too late to save anything. Kelly funeral Funeral services for M. L. Kelly Arab carpenter and floor finisher, were held Dec.
