4-A Rockin' Relics Secrets and Collectibles

Walkthrough

This level could make one pull their hair out, especially those trying to land in the Secret Exit. Do not worry! You won’t have to worry about losing your hair now. Read along and ace this level.

Hop along, dodging the sharks and owls until you come across the hopping spiky balls. In between the two is a wooden platform. Slap the ground to fall in a Secret Room (1/2). Collect all 100 bananas for the first Puzzle Piece (1/9).

Moving along the path, you will spot the first KONG letter (1/4) beneath a platform. Just dive in the water and jump out to nab the “K.”

Once in the water, you’ll enter a room with a pipe that sucks water in and pushes it out. In that ebb and flow of water is a ring of bananas. Collect them all for the next Puzzle Piece (2/9).

Swim out of the water and pass the checkpoint. Take out the three penguins that follow. Collect all of the bananas floating above the hopping boat. When you do, the next Puzzle Piece (3/9) is yours.

Past the KONG barrel, you will spot the next KONG letter (2/4) beneath the hopping spiky balls. Time your passage underneath to collect the “O.”

Go back the way you came. Either roll under the balls or use the grassy patch above. Once back on the other side, dive in the water and swim to the bottom. Below is a hidden cove (1/1) with a group of yellow fruit inside. Collect all of the fruit for a shiny Puzzle Piece (4/9).

Move along past where the “O” was. Don’t grab those swinging vines just yet. Instead dive in the water and swim to the left. A blast barrel is hiding there. Swim inside to be launched into the second Secret Room (2/2). You know the drill. Follow protocol and another Puzzle Piece (5/9) is yours.

Continuing along the path you’ll end up back in the water. The room features the same suction pipe from earlier, except this time with enemies too. Collect all of the Banana Bunches for the next Puzzle Piece (6/9).

Past the Checkpoint Pig is another hopping boat. Floating above this one is the next KONG letter (3/4). Time a jump to nab it.

Following the “N” are two teeter toter like platforms. Grab the first Banana Bunch and more will appear. Grab all of the bananas that appear, going back and forth between the platforms, before the bananas vanish and the next Puzzle Piece (7/9) will appear.

Past the last Puzzle Piece is the Secret Exit. You will need Dixie for this jump and it makes it MUCH easier having Dixie as a second controller (Note: For single players, just turn on the second controller before the level and assign Dixie to it. Leave her on your back until this part.) On the platform before you are three hopping spiky balls. Using Dixie’s pop gun, you can destroy them, which makes this jump a cake walk. Above the third spiky ball is a swinging vine. Bop off the owl on the right and use Dixie to get high enough to grab the vine. To the right is the Secret Exit (1/1). If you miss the jump, just go to the right or left far enough for the owl to respawn.

Just past the Secret Exit is a blast barrel above the water. Before launching toward the end of the level, go for a swim first. Head all the way to the right to find the eighth Puzzle Piece (8/9).

Now go ahead and launch toward the end. Follow the blast barrels and you will spot the final KONG letter (4/4). Time your shot to collect the “G.”

Huzzah! The Slot Barrel! Wait! We are still missing a Puzzle Piece! Gasp! Not to worry, the final Puzzle Piece (9/9) is nearby. Shoot OVER the blast barrel and you will be shot into the final piece.

Now go ahead and smash that Slot Barrel and move along to 4-B, which is easily the most unique level so far.
