4-B Shoal Atoll Secrets and Collectibles

Walkthrough

This level is strange. Rather than a straight forward level design, Shoal Atoll is an underwater maze. It is recommended you use the video guide above for this one. If you cannot, do not worry, the written walkthrough starts now.

Make sure to start the level with Dixie! There is a hidden cove (1/1) right off the bat that only she can help access. Moving toward the right you will see a bridge. Don’t step on it yet! As soon as you do it will collapse. Jump toward the middle of the bridge, where the Banana Bunch is. As soon as you land jump again toward the right. With proper timing you will land on a little cliff. Slap the ground in front of the treasure chest and collect all of the bananas for the first Puzzle Piece (1/5).

On your way to the bridge you definitely saw the first KONG letter (1/4) floating above some penguins. You probably have already nabbed it. If not, bop one of the foes and collect the “K.”

Now it’s time to start the maze!

Dive down into the water and head through the opening on the right. Go all the way to the right, past the red chest, into the upper passage.

You’ll notice the next KONG letter (2/4) as soon as you enter. Just swim up and nab it. Avoid the orange shark and enter the path in the upper left.

Right out of the gate is a red key. I wonder what this unlocks?!? Grab it and then swim through the jet stream in the upper left to enter a Secret Room (1/1). Gather all 100 bananas for a shiny Puzzle Piece (2/5).

Swim down from the Secret Room and then head to the right to find the red chest from earlier. Out pops a green key! Pick it up and take the lower right hand path.

Move along through the empty corridor and you will end up in a room with a yellow chest. We need a yellow key for that chest, so off we go for the yellow key! Before we leave this room, in the bottom left corner is a barrel. Dash past it so the next Puzzle Piece (3/5) can reveal itself. Then move out of the room via the path in the bottom right.

You come out right next to the green chest. Open it and claim your prize; the blue key! Swim around to the bottom and avoid the eel. In the middle is the third KONG letter (3/4). Grab it and leave the room via the left passage.

You’ll have some collecting to do in this hallway. Gather all of the bananas in the first ring to reveal a hole in the ceiling. Do the same for the second and third ring of bananas. Enter the hole above the third ring.

Follow the path through this short room and pop into the next room. Swim down into the cove, collecting all of the bananas along the way. At the bottom is the blue chest with the yellow key inside. If you collected all of the bananas, the fourth Puzzle Piece (4/5) will pop out. Swim back to the top and leave the room through the left path.

You are now back at the entrance of the maze. Enter its depths once again. Swim all the way to the right and enter the next room via the bottom right path.

Avoid the pufferfish as you swim along until you pop out in the same room as the yellow chest. Collect your prize that is known as the purple key and unlock the giant purple door on the right.

You will enter a long jet stream hallway. Follow the bananas to be lead to the final KONG letter (4/4). If you miss the “G” you can just swim back and nab it.

At last, the Slot Barrel! Pass it! Dash past the barrel on the right for the final Puzzle Piece (5/5) and THEN smash the Slot Barrel!!

Great job nabbing all of the KONG letters in World 4, now onto the deadly level 4-K.
